What Evidence Does Macbeth Trust

On another note, while Macbeth was King of Scotland he did not have any people he could call a supporter to his cause, whether it is because Macbeth did not trust them or because his men did not trust him it is true that Macbeth had very few friends. It is said that Macbeth had very severe trust issues as he grew into power “if thou speak’st false, upon the next tree shall thou hang alive till famine cling thee;” .This line was spoken from Macbeth to a messenger that had told him news that he did not want to hear, and it shows the trust he gives to the people that work for him. Secondly, many people, both in Scotland and in England wished the worse for him. This long list includes: King Malcolm, Macduff, Fleance, and young siward. During his
short reign Macbeth has succeeded in angering many people in many ways, many of the more influential people began to revolt against him and soon toppled his growing empire as repayment for his crimes. Lastly, during the final days of Macbeth`s life is when he suffered his greatest betrayal, when King Malcolm and his men began to march on Dunsinane his men start to abandon him and leave, some even leave to join Malcolm’s forces and help destroy Macbeth`s kingdom. This destroys all hope that Macbeth can succeed and was possibly the difference between life and death for Macbeth. In conclusion, I believe that Macbeth`s uneasiness to trust people was his undoing and whether it was Macbeth`s fault or the men that worked for him`s fault, it very well may have been Macbeth`s true undoing.
