Today lots of women are feminists, but in the past many were feminists too. There’s few that fought for themselves and their rights while others hid, this could be the reason why writers represented them in their books.
Shakespeare is known and famous for all of his writings; an example is Romeo & Juliet. In Romeo & Juliet he wrote about a girl and represented her as a feminists; Juliet.
Juliet living in an aristocratic house didn’t have all the freedom males had, making her an example of feminism after not letting society suppress her.

After Romeo killed Tybalt, her nurse didn’t trust Juliet to Romeo and encouraged her to marry Paris, but Juliet didn’t listen to her and said “thou and my bosom henceforth shall be twain” meaning she wouldn’t tell her her secrets anymore after talking bad about Romeo.
