What Is Cummins Inc. Business Model?
In reviewing the many components that make up the Stategy Diamond, the Arenas section tends to be the biggest. The Arenas section asks some key questions relating to where the firm is active in the market and where they tend to do most of their business. After evaluating the Cummins Inc. business model, it has been easy to determine what kinds of products they offer, what channels they use to sell their products, what business segments they have, the geographic areas where they are most prominent, the value strategies that have made them successful, their core technologies that set them apart from the pack, and their global involvement that has helped them grow tremendously. Cummins Inc. defines this in their mission statement by placing a strong emphasis on their value of innovation and creativity. Cummins Inc. has shown in years past that they are usually the first to premiere a new idea or technological advancement, such as the invention of the diesel engine or their filtration units. Cummins Inc. prides themselves on being the first to create a new product or service that seperates them from their competitors. It would be fair to say that Cummins Inc. is relatively agressive in the delivery of a new product. When the company creates a new product, they are quick to manufacture it, distribute it, and provide quality service for the product. Cummins Inc. is always working to improve their products and services, which is another reason for their success. Cummins Inc. goes above what is needed to satisfy the customer and this aggression is what will keep them successful for years to come. Cummins Inc. is a company that was built on integrity and rapid innovation and it is very doubtful that they would change from their core beliefs and values that have made them a top competitor in the heavy equipment
