What Is Life?
Read each statement. Write a 100-word summary explaining how that media piece supports that statement and include reference citations.
1. Find a media piece—article, video, presentation, song, or other—related to the scientific method, creating hypotheses, or designing experiments. Include the link or reference citation for the piece and describe how it helped you better understand how the scientific method is used to create hypotheses and experiments.
The media piece I chose for this question was a YouTube video. The video showed visual steps to the scientific steps. The person in the video clearly stated a question which was “what effect does salt have on the density of water. He then created a hypothesis or an educated guess to his question. The hypothesis was that if salt was added it will increase the density of water which would increase the buoyant force. An experiment was done to test his hypothesis and as a result his hypothesis was right. What I learned from this video is that the scientific method is more like strategies used to answer any questions that we might have on how things work.

2. Find a media piece—article, video, presentation, song, or other—that recognizes the fundamental concepts of chemistry in biology. Include the link or reference citation for the piece and describe how it helped you better understand how fundamental concepts of chemistry affect biology.
To answer this question I used a YouTube video that clearly and effectively talks about how chemistry is important in biology. This type of media helped me understand that all living things and biological systems are run by chemical reactions. Chemical reactions causes living things to live grow and reproduce. According to the video,
