With his rule there was hope for a better future of the country and Malcolm assured the people by his actions that he will perform his kingly duties with diligence. His last speech was a reflection of the kind of man he is and king he would be. His praise for his friends and establishment of earldom in Scotland represent his goodwill towards the people.
