One difference is that being in prison is that the person's safety is at high risk.
Reason being is that there are many types of convicted felons that have committed various different crimes like robbery, rape, and even homicide. So who ever it is that's in prison, they are going to have to fend for their life and be on constant alert. Even though there are prison guards there to keep the peace and to ensure the safety of others doesn't mean that the prisoners are safe from other convicts. The only thing that those prisoners have to do while being locked up is serve their time and of course be dangerous after all prison is one of the most dangerous places to be. So if the person that is locked up can’t protect themselves then they are in for a big surprise. On
the
Vasquez 2 other hand being grounded isn’t so dangerous and scary like prison is. When a person is grounded they aren’t sent to correctional facility instead they are sent to their room in their own house. So there is no danger of other convicts trying to harm them or anything in that nature. Being grounded is probably more convenient considering the safety of a home than to a scary prison. At the same time though there are also similarities. One similarity is that being grounded and being in prison is that the person's freedom is taken away. In the penitentiary he or she can’t do what they choose to. Instead they are confined to their cell until they are told otherwise by the prison guards. Same thing goes for being grounded, whoever it is that’s grounded can’t leave their room to do what they desire. They pretty much can't have fun in general. They can only do what their parents tell them what to do and when to do it. Another similarity is that both punishments will change the person’s life in a positive manner. Whether it was being locked up in a cell or in a room. Even though one punishment is more serious than the other, the lesson is still the same. During their time of punishment they will have plenty of time to reflect on their mistake and convince them to not commit their error again because he or she knows that being grounded or being in prison is not a pleasant experience. With everything being said it all comes down to which punishment the person prefers. Most will say they prefer to be grounded than to go to prison, but, believe it or not, some would rather go to prison. It just all comes down to the type of person that is being dealt with and their type of crime as well.
