In support of my first premise, I argue that political correctness cause misinterpretation of words. It causes a radical disconnect of words from context. An example of misinterpretation would be the word “nigger.” As a result of political correctness, we are not allowed to use it even when we should. The media censor it by itself, people give harsh critics for using the word and people are being afraid of using the word. This is absurd because it assumes that certain words have unchangeable meanings, and they are persistent regardless of context. If they use ‘politically incorrect’ words to certain groups, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive. The term ‘political correctness’ is now being used as ‘basic manners’ and ‘respect’. Some believe the only thing they need to live correctly and morally is political correctness. Political correctness became the obstacles of our society from speaking and expressing ourselves. Never before in history have people been so afraid to stand up against absurdity for fear of being judged harshly for being ‘politically incorrect’. However, being politically correct does not make you correct. It is acting as a barrier from our mind to speak
