Selina felt bad for Austin, that he was stuck with her for this “working buddies” thing in English. Why would someone stupidly arrive late to class and become my deskmate, and then stupidly save me from an awkward situation between my ex-best friend and me?
“Why?” Austin asked, looking puzzled.
“First of all, the main idea of the story is often linked to the realization of the character. Nobody in the story realized that. Also, if the …show more content…
Selina took a deep breath. “Weakness. Weakness is not something people can escape from.” Selina bit her lip gently. “In real life, Teddy was powerless. He had to follow orders and face the disdains of his aunt and uncle. In the attic, he was the king and everyone needed him. At the end, as his uncle mocked his ‘paper dolls’, he eventually realized that he was weak and did not have what it took to be treated like the powerful king he imagined to be.”

I don’t care which question you got wrong on your high-ninety paper. Go get a seventy and see how that’s gonna feel like.” That was what Caroline had said. Selina sat on her bed, holding her math test, staring into the void. A bright 68 was written on the top right corner, a mark that she never got in her entire life. She put the paper aside and hugged her legs tightly, burying her head into her arms as tears quietly slid down her face. Grade 8 math was like hell for students of Winterberry Elementary School, and most of them were frustrated because of their marks. Selina had knew that from the beginning. Why did she show off her high-nineties to everybody, then? She did not intend to make others feel worse, she just wanted her fellow classmates to pay attention to her and care more about her, that was all. I don’t deserve that. Selina wasn’t someone who spoke English fluently, nor did she have good communication or teamwork skills. Others left her alone because she was never able to state her ideas without stammering or contribute her fair share when working in groups. Except for Caroline, who always listened to her patiently and worked with her on all group projects, and now the only thing she did in return was to rub the high marks in Caroline’s face. I should be ashamed. All I can bring was trouble. All I was capable of doing was making other people feel bad. I was born to let other people down. Selina’s body trembled as she broke into a hysterical laughter.
