There are a lot of factors that can trigger sleep paralysis including stress, lack of sleep, genetics and even sleep related leg cramps can cause the paralysis from abruptly awakening your brain. Find comfort in someone who relaxes you, rather its Jesus or your grandmother, just think of them and find a way to ease the pressure. If someone is in bed with you, seek their help. Let them know ahead of time that these experiences often happen while asleep so that they know what to look for if you do happen to fall into sleep paralysis while with them. One last option is to scrunch up your face like you just ate a sour lemon, repeat this step two or three times and the paralysis should be broken!
As stated before, Sleep Paralysis is not harmful. It’s a common condition all ages experience. Although there is no permanent cure for it, there are supplements and home remedies to ease the visions and sound. People are not alone in this battle of sleep, there are medications and sleep studies that can be taken and done to help the cause as well. Although, this experience is terrifying, just remember it’s not real and just a figment of imagination and it will pass. Don’t fight it. Never fight
