While living at home as a youth his father was a dope Slinger who was constantly in and out of jail, his mother was an emotionally unstable woman due to the problems their family faced with his father in jail and they were financially unstable. At the age of 16 Staples decided that he was not going to follow in his father's path of gang banging. He had decided that he wanted to better himself as a person and find a career in which he could be successful in and have a nice life. This caused him to start hanging out with Dijon Samo, Chuck Wun, and his cousin Campbell Emerson who were all into the music business at the time that he started to hang out with them. This led to many opportunities that he would have to record in the studio trying to make popular music that could create some fame and fortune. At one point he was invited to go to Los Angeles, California and record with famous rapper Earl Sweatshirt for his self titled album called Epar. Once the album was released and people heard Vince's features, he started to become very popular among the listener and I begged him to create more music on his own. All of this was possible because of his decision to get away from gangbanging in the hood and having the opportunity to work with his friends who are into the music business and exposed him to the art.
