What Is The Difference Between Demonization And The Lgbtq Community

Demonization in todays society comes in many different forms currently Target and the LGBTQ community are being demonized. Religious groups and right wing conservatives currently have an issue with many businesses’ specifically Target with their trans-inclusive bathroom policy. Recently there have been two videos of people going through Target stores stating in their opinion the demonic nature of Targets bathroom policies and of the LGBTQ community. The first video is entitled “Glenn Fall New York Target Rebuke”. The women in the video yells throughout the store comparing the store to the ancient city of Sodom and Gomorrah and stating that shoppers of Target and Target itself are “cursed” and an “abomination in the eyes of God”. Another video entitled “BOYCOTT TARGET || Radical Reverend fires bullseye at Target employees” is another video attempting to boycott Target for there bathroom policy. This one involves a reverend who defines Target as a “sick and twisted company” and states that the company is also “perverted”. Both of these examples use negative demonic language to describe the LGBTQ community and Target as a company. They also condemn others in the process stating that they will feel god’s wrath and be sent to hell.
Also with both of the videos they protest to people how they should not be persuaded by either of these groups and to not follow their political agenda. Finally, by comparing the LGBTQ community and Target to Sodom and Gomorrah it further pushes this belief that these groups are “evil”. Sodom and Gomorrah in the bible was a city defined as sinful and wicked so much it had to be destroyed. Based off of these aspects I believe it clearly defines the demonization of both of these
