Like in the story and in this verse the horse and Doodles brother both wanted something so bad that it changed them and their future drastically. The horse wants better qualities and what he described turned him into something that he wasn’t.The horse said, “It seems to me that I am not well proportioned. My neck is too short. If you can make my neck a little longer, my upper body will be infinitely more beautiful. And if you can make my legs much longer thinner, then I will look infinitely more beautiful in my lower body.”The cosmic god said, “Amen” Then immediately he made a camel appear in place of the horse. The horse was so disheartened that it started to cry, “0 Lord, I wanted to become more beautiful. In what way is this kind of outer form more beautiful?”The cosmic god said, “This is exactly what you asked for. You have become a camel.”The horse cried, “Oh no, I do not want to become a camel I wish to remain a horse. As a horse, everybody appreciated my good qualities. Nobody will appreciate me as a camel.”The cosmic god said, “Never try to achieve or receive more than I have given you. If you want to lead a desire-life, then at every moment you will want more and more. But you have no idea what the outcome will be. If you cry for a longer neck and legs, this is what will

Doodle’s older brother, Big Brother, taught Doodle how to walk so he wouldn’t be picked on for having a disabled little brother. After teaching Doodle how to walk, he taught him how to do other things too. From the recognition Big Brother receives from Doodle, it made him realize something. Big Brother changed his motive and started teaching Doodle for Doodle’s benefit rather than his own, until he pushed him too hard and Doodle dies. These are the chain of events Big Brother experienced in his coming of age story. We can infer that the mother was not completely involved in his upbringing either, despite his lack of disability. By allowing him to go off on his own, his mother was avoiding spending time and making important memories with him. Through Doodle, the brother was attempting to earn some recognition. In his mind, he taught Doodle to walk and he should get credit for it. Going back to the line “But all of us must have something to be proud of, and Doodle had become my something,” opens a new door into the brother`s way of thinking. He was hoping to become his mother`s “something” by giving back the child she never truly got to have. The brother was the only one who had hope in Doodle, most likely because he didn’t truly understand the circumstances of Doodle`s birth. He wanted so desperately for his little brother to be like every other boy. He pushed himself and Doodle to succeed while his parents were distracted with trying to forget their second…

The allegory “The scarlet ibis” by James Hurst is about A boy that gets a brother who is not all there and they think he is going to die. He ends up surviving, but his brother is embarrassed that he has a brother who is not all there so he tries to fix him, but he has too much pride and it ends in tragedy. First, you should know That the brother names him Doodle doodle ends up living and he ends up being all there, but that is not enough for his brother (Hurst). In my opinion, It was not right of Doodles brother to force him to do things that can hurt him and overwork him.Furthermore, Doodle learns how to walk, but his brother is not satisfied with just that he makes him swim and that makes him sick, they found a bird called a scarlet ibis…

When Brother was younger and Doodle had just been born, Brother was told he needed to be careful with his new baby brother. Even though teaching Doodle how to walk was a new and exciting thing, he technically wasn’t supposed to. If something would have gone wrong sooner instead of later, Doodle could have ended up dying much earlier than he did. On the last page, Brother makes Doodle row n the canoe even though he is very tired. He also broke into a run, leaving Doodle behind, expecting him to catch up even though he is crying out and begging for Brother. If you think about this moment and analyze it in your head, it is quite upsetting to think that only if Brother would have rowed the canoe for Doodle and slowly walked home with him instead of sprinting and trying to beat the rain, Doodle would get to rest and would have lived. Even if it was only for a week more or even a day, Doodle would have…

Doodle is a kid who loves his brother a lot. His worst fear is to have his brother leave him. He needs encouragement to do things, an example is when they are at the swamp and his brother picks him up over and over. It can be disputed that Brother was cruel to Doodle, or that his treatment towards him was otherwise actually rather helpful. For one, the only reason he helped Doodle at all was for his own benefit, and not really for Doodle’s. On the other hand, it is essential for the reader to remember that Doodle is physically and mentally disabled and thus cannot do as much as the…

Brother was ashamed of having a crippled brother so he helped doodle everyday because he wanted more pride. In the book Scarlet Ibis Brother set out to teach Doodle how to walk, run, swim, and paddle a boat. “When doodle was five years old, I was embarrassed at having a brother of that age that couldn't walk, so I set out to teach him” (Hurst 2). When having a brother with disabilities it's a good thing to help them out. But in this story Brother was only trying to help doodle to better himself. If Brother did not have as much pride and was not as embarrassed about Doodle he would not have pushed Doodle like he did. But in the end brother pushed Doodle to hard and it does not end well. Brother helps Doodle because he is ashamed as wants more pride.…

Hamlet’s “To be, or not to be” soliloquy remains arguably the most famous soliloquy in the history of the theatre. For the character at that moment, the most important phrase, “To be or not to be” literally means to live or not to live. The soliloquy must convince those secretly listening to Hamlet that he will not seek revenge for his father’s death. Although Hamlet appears mad during his rant, he achieves his goal of convincing everyone he will most likely commit suicide.…
