What Is The Difference Between Sounder And Our Town

The Two books Sounder and Our Town have some great characters, but most of the characters go through hard time dealing with death and pain that leaves them hopeless. In the stories the characters are all important to one another. Of the two stories i picked Mrs. Webb who is a loving mother of two soon to be zero. They boy from Sounder who loses his two most favorite things in his life, he goes through very rough times along with his mother two. Last but not least the mother from Sounder. The mother experiences the same feelings as the boy, but less harsh. The mother also has to deal with the fact that her husband is gone.

Mrs. Webb is a mother of two but in the end of the story she no children. She had a daughter that married George and had a successful marriage but when Emily had kids she died in childbirth. She lost her son Wally due to his appendix bursting while on a boy scout trip. Emily Webb joins the group of dead souls in the nearest cemetery. Mrs.Webb as a mother faces this difficult time and is one of the worst experiences to loose someone you dearly love with all of your heart. The thing that mrs. webb remembers is that “life goes on”. The boy’s father gets arrested because he stole the ham and was in jail for a while. Later his father passes away and he is devastated. Then Sounder dies because of old age even though he came back with a lot of injuries from when he went missing. The Boy has to face the hard facts that his dad is dead and so is Sounder, and he can't go hunting anymore and there will no longer be the man of the house. His Father put food on the table and provided them life because of food. Now they boy has to work. In the end he is able to cope and goes back to school, but he no longer lives at home after all of the tragedies. In the end the boy is good and looks on the bright side of
