What Is The Moral Of The Movie School Ties
Along I was watching the movie “School Ties” io identified various moral issues that basically made the plot of the movie. Tree of the main moral events happened when David Greene got into a fight with the leader of the “bikers” around his city, the other is the fact that when his colleges discovered he (David Greene) was Jewish they started to treat him differently, and the last one was when Charlie Dillon cheated on a test and he ended-up accusing the main character of doing so. I reflected a lot after watching the film because I saw within the characters lack of “acting human”, human dignity, and respect which really made the plot of the movie more interesting and much related to morality. I can genuinely relate some parts of the movie …show more content…
Are they really fighting to see what group stays on the restaurant.” Their action was certainly violating one of the 8 statements of acting human which is: We can be flexible and human dignity. Instead of being “flexible” and looking for other solutions, they decided to go against natural law and hit each other so they could show the people around them who was brave. In my opinion, the bravest solution was having both of them coming to an agreement in which kept them out of getting hurt. Being dignity of each other means being worthy of esteem and respect, in other words, knowing what is best for you and for others, they really showed the opposite of human dignity and denied one of the states of “acting …show more content…
Before they knew David was Jewish they treated him very nicely and were very close friends, but after knowing his true religion I identified an immediate change of personality on the characters, they started treating him as if he was trash even though he was the same as before. They showed a high absence of respect for the boy and the religion as a whole. Even though you don’t like the religion there is no need to show hatred against it, at least show respect and try to open your mind and change. This particular absence of respect towards a religion really annoys me because it indeed happens to our modern world. An example is Lebanon, which has suffered a lot because of Israel (Jews) during the wars. The Lebanese population nowadays have so much hatred toward Jews because of their past, but they need to now not every jew is the way they feel they are. Sometimes the best way to deal with something in the past is by leaving it behind. Another active problem against religion is people thinking all Muslims are terrorists. Only because a group of people of a certain religion is committing wrong acts, it does not mean the whole religion should be affected by racism. People should really think before they act because they don’t have any idea of what's happening around

The fact that he did not betray his God, and tried to be kind to others even though he was treated unjustly makes me admire David’s life. Almost every day, David prayed to God up until the time of his departure from this life, which would be tremendously difficult considering his circumstances. I not only admire David but all of the other Jews as well. There are countless others who died the same way as David and we don’t even know most of their names. Therefore, I admire all of the Jews that were being forced to live under Hitler’s rules and still managed to maintain their…

This film represents our culture and relationships in many same ways that still affect us today. Unfortunately this film represents our culture and relationships today as selfish. It shows our culture’s self-concept; the perception of ourselves. Our culture sets a stereotype and we adapt to what others label us. In this film our relationships are weak. The relational uppers didn’t step up to help Cliff’s positive halo. They labeled him through the attribution theory of “explanations or attach meaning to another person’s behavior or our own” (Richard and Turner 67). This represents our relationships from teachers to students not a strong as it should be. The similarities from this film and today consist of miscommunication and stereotyping.…

Ethically speaking, the movie “The Bronx Tale” is a great example of one’s moral development. In the movie we watch the lead character, Colagero grow up in the Bronx and gradually form moral judgment with help from his father and instructor, Sonny. Though Sonny is a local mafia boss, he plays a key role in Colagero’s mental and moral development. Colagero’s story illustrates Kohlberg’s theory of moral development and it’s various stages.…

Lebanon is only about as large as Connecticut and at the time had a population of roughly 1.5 million. Lebanon lies east of the Mediterranean Sea bordering two much larger countries; bounded largely to the north and east by Syria, to the south Israel. Lebanon was considered a country at risk. One of the main reasons for this was that it was perceived by its neighbors to be more pro-Western than pro-Arab. With the country nearly equally split between Christians and Muslims, it would only be a matter of time before the neighboring Muslim countries would seek to leverage Lebanon to cut its Western ties and become pro-Arab. (Gilmore,…

Those who hold strong religious and moral values, react in stern and desperate ways, causing an exacerbation and escalation of conflict. The religious conflict between Palestinian’s and Israelites is very much affected by the religious beliefs of the various sides. Such tension has caused territorial disputes and physical conflict to occur in the middle-east. Moreover, disputes between Jews and Palestinians has escalated and translated to other parts of the world, France in particular. Acts of conflict between Jews and Arab’s has resulted reported issues of acts of violence against Jews in France to increase from one in 1998 to nine in 1999 to 116 in 2000. This escalation of physical conflict on a broader global scale has ultimately been caused by the religious conflict initially present in the Middle-East. Similarly, Razieh’s religion causes the onset of other forms of conflict to occur and escalation to result. The internal conflict experienced by Razieh involving her religious values enforced a maintenance of her moral high ground as a religious woman. Nader’s accusation upon Razieh of theft, caused the onset…

One’s morality is neither constructed by society nor social norms, but rather the maturity, natural conscious, and involvement in one’s own self and experiences. The sense of right from wrong is altered through one’s life conflicts and tragedies and the mentors that they have had along the way. The novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee remarkably notes the framing of Scout’s conscious and morality through the mob at the county jail, the astringent trial, and the gruesome attack after the Halloween party.…

Woody Allen’s, “Crimes and Misdemeanors”, film paints a realistic picture of the real world in which we all live. His film brilliantly portrays the lives of how a large amount of people across this globe live their own life and does not attempt to “sugarcoat” any event that occurs in the movie; he merely tells it how it is and provides information for what people should expect in today’s world. Allen takes on the issue of the human races’ true beliefs of morality and what actually happens in the real world, in contrast to what typically takes place in movies. Allen transpires different events throughout his movie that create a lingering question for his audience on the thoughts of morality in a “godless” community.…
