In the movie Dirty, Filthy Love (2006), Mark Furness was a junior partner at an Architect firm who has obsessive-compulsive disorder. Mark also suffers from Tourette's syndrome which causes him to have motor tics where his eye would twitch and vocal tics which would cause speech outbursts which include his habit of barking like a dog. The barking is triggered when Mark is in weird situations which cause him to feel tense or stressed. Another symptom was his obsession to cleaning. Mark would eventually become separated from his wife and lose his job. Mark was repeated misdiagnosed by Physicians who would dismiss his symptoms as just depression but soon, Mark would meet Charlotte who also has OCD, she recognized what the doctors did and would
Alex would arrive at her home to deliver the news as he was the on driving the vehicle. Alex expresses his apologies, but Linda does not seem to be truly hurt by the situation, instead she focused on Alex's wet clothes. Alex would realize that something was wrong with Linda though and proceed to ask her about her situation and offer his company. Linda would not even touch trash bags which prevented her from taking out the trash-this is called mania. Thus, Linda asks Alex to stay by her side to take out the trash. Alex would agree until Vivienne's funeral. Alex however, was no perfect man having just been released from prison for the murder of a man. The man happened to be the driver of the car in which his son was killed in. Linda was not accepting of Maddie until much later in the movie.
