Winston wants to take a more effective approach and thinks of ways to completely undermine the Party, such as the Proles rebelling. He also takes the most incautious approaches. He buys a diary, commits Thoughtcrime constantly, and has sexual relations with Julia. He also takes a huge step into the dangerous zone when he asks around about the past. Julia’s resistance method is solely for herself, she only does what she desire while Winston does what he thinks will benefit the future. Her rebellion is to have sexual relations with numerous Party members. Although Julia’s tactic may seem small, it may also be the most realistic. Julia is making other Party members rebel also by doing this. Winston is more emotional and more absorbed in taking down the Party, while Julia does not think it will be possible. Winston’s would be without a doubt more effective but more dangerous while Julia’s is less effective but more realistic. When their two strategies link up they may perhaps be most effective if they had not been caught. They commit a huge offense of falling in love. Winston talks Julia into being more resistant and when they think they join the Brotherhood they think that they could really be effective. Its citizens cannot do anything at all that the Party does not want them to do, they have no free will, they cannot even think for themselves for fear of committing thoughtcrime. People are kept under constant watch and cannot even make an unusual display of emotions on their faces without getting caught. People are terrified of being caught by the Thought Police and tried. Many citizens are executed and tortured because of thinking few bad things. For example, Syme, a comrade of Winston, is vaporized for being too intelligent, according to what Winston thinks. In the Ministry of Love Winston sees Mr. Parsons, he was put there because his daughter caught him saying something unfavorable to the Party in his sleep. The people are terrified of their own children in Oceania for fear of them denouncing them to the Thought Police. Citizens live in fear their whole lives in Oceania and no one will do anything about it. The society divided into three systems also helps the Party have control over citizens. The Inner Party are very controlled but have a maximum of thirty minutes to cut off their telescreens. The Outer Party possibly has the largest percentage of people caught because they are constantly watched and are strictly maintained. The Proles, although is a huge population, has the most freedom. The Proles cannot break out of their ways of life just like the Outer Party cannot
