What It Means To Be An American Research Paper
What does it mean to be an American? What is it that ties us all together as Americans? What truly defines you as an American? It's not just about where you were born, your race, your religion. It's about how much you love America and your loyalty towards this country.
Being an American is defined by how you show that you love this country , whether that be hanging the US flag in your front yard or just simply voting for who the next president will be.     There is much controversy surrounding the idea of patriotism and the iconography of the American flag in today's society. Some believe patriotism is simply the act of supporting the decisions of the leaders of the country. Others say, to be patriotic, people should be outspoken and voice their oppositions to what is going on in the government. Opinions also differ on the idea of what the American flag represents.
