What It Means To Be Thankful Essay
The definition to be thankful is to express gratitude and relief. It is very important to be thankful because if we were never thankful then we would be spoiled, greedy, and ungrateful. Naturally we are thankful for the items we normally don't receive, because they are considered special. I am thankful for so many events and items including my family, vacations, and rainy days. I am very grateful and thankful for my family, they mean everything to me. My family supports me, encourages me, provide me love, shelter, and food. Without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today. In a family love is a very important part of the relationship. Even though my parents are divorced I am both loved my mother, and father equally. What is really important to me is when we can come together as a family. My family is the most important part of my life, because if I ever do anything wrong or make a mistake my parents can forgive me always.

I am also very thankful for vacations. A vacation for me is a getaway place, where I can't worry about anything else, but to be happy. Since we live in Southern California which is partly a desert, we never receive as much rain as on the east coast. Rain is a good change for California which provides the plant's water to continue growing during our drought. My favorite thing about rainy days is that you can just cuddle up near the wood by the fireplace lit up luminosity and watch the flames sparkle and crackle while you're full of warmth. You can watch movies, drink tea, eat marshmallows, and wear cozy turtlenecks, which you can't do on an average scorching Southern California day. Although standing in the rain and getting wet is the wonderful thing about rain, it's always good to stay dry

In studying Amy Chua’s “Day of Empire”, one finds a lot more similarities than differences shared among the great empires. Tolerance is a common theme that repeats itself over and over, and along with assimilation, unity, and acceptance, it is the glue that holds together these hyperpowers. But the path to the golden times of peace and glory and the strategic use of tolerance differs in each empire, and within the empire itself, from ruler to ruler. The Roman Empire enjoyed far more longevity than the Mongolian, British and American empires combined; two millennia[1] to be exact. Also, another unique feature of the Roman Empire was the idea of Rome, which was bigger than the empire itself, and an ambitious vision shared by most Roman Emperors. But let’s analyze the commonalities and differences among these four empires through three different lenses: political, economic and social.…

The Lord is a very generous and loving God. We, as followers and believers of Christ, should be thankful for everything He does. Many people in the world are not thankful for all the things the Lord does for them. They tend to complain about their life and worry about what they do not have rather than think about all the things they are privileged to have. People worry too much about who has the best phone, or car, or house, etc. and they do not focus on what is really important, which is their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very easy to think of all the things we do not have and be unthankful. We can be jealous and covetous. But the hard thing to do is to remember to thank God for everything He has provided for us and for the wonderful life that He has given us.…

First, my family is the main thing I am thankful for. One of the reasons I am thankful for them is because I would not be in this world today without them. First of all, my family makes me feel happy. My family is a safe harbor where I can be myself. It is not necessary for me to explain myself to my family because only they truly know who I am. I can be sure that even if someone lies to me or hurts me, my family will support me. What is more, caring about my family also makes me happy. For instance, when I buy a toy for my brother, it makes him happy; or when I give flowers to my mother, she kisses me tenderly. When I see my family healthy and smiling, my heart is filled with joy. In addition, I am happy when I loved by my family, and when they care about me. Quite often, no one can love you as much as your family. Only they will think and worry about you every second.…

It’s not so easy being grateful since it’s really hard to be happy with what you already have and realizing how lucky you are to have them. I honestly wasn’t grateful for anything, I thought I never had enough, I always wanted more. Till the day came that reality slapped me across the face and helped me open my eyes to something’s I thought I would never notice. I didn’t learn to be grateful all by myself, I had the help of an amazing friend that and I’m glad she came around because if it was for her, I’d still be the same old ignorant person I used to be.…
