What It Means to Me to Be a Teamleader
What it means for me to be a teamleader. What it means for me to be a teamleader is this, as a teamleader you are the first person in that Soldiers chain of command to findout about and try to fix thatSoldiers problems. Weither those problems are family problems, work related problems, financal, or other personal problems that Soldier is going to come to you. That Soldier is going to come to you for help and it is your responsibility to ensure that Soldier and his family are taken care of. Teamleaders are problem solvers and if for some reason you cant solve that problem it is up to you to go to your supervisor for advice or help on how to solve that or those problems. Also as a teamleader it is your responsibility to teach that Soldier his or her job, you cant just give a Soldier a task and expect it to be completed to your standard. You need to explain the task to them, have them perform the task with your supervision and sometimes do this more than once or twice so that Soldier knows what your standards for that task are. Also as a teamleader it is up to you to teach your Soldiers to be responsibile as well as teaching them sel responsibility. It is your responsibility to teach your Soldiers to be responsibile for the things they do or the things they dont do. One way is this give them a task, explain the task, eplain how to complete the task then have the Soldier report back to you when the task is complete, then as the teamleader go double check and see if the task was completed to standard. Once that Soldier has earned your confidence and trust in him or her then start teaching them self responsibility. Give that Soldier a task and spot check them, but ensure that the Soldier knows that if the task is not completed to standard as you have explained that they will have to redo the task and may even face further punishment. Also as a teamleader it is up to you to when recommending Soldiers for awards, advancement, and even punishment. If a

It is a well-known fact that the foundation of all successful teamwork is trust. A common saying in the United States Army is "One team, one fight". The Army is, simplistically speaking, an enormous team that moves to execute it's overarching mission through the delegation of orders; all the way from the higher ranks, down to the lowest of levels. From Division to Brigade commanders, Company commanders to platoon sergeants, even squad leaders to individual soldiers; it is paramount that leaders are able to trust their subordinates to complete assigned tasks correctly, and in a timely manner. In addition, something as simple as being at you assigned place of duty and the assigned time that you are supposed to be there is an example of integrity in itself. When you are told be somewhere be your leader they are trusting that you will follow that order, and it is your responsibility as a soldier to follow through. This also means that when given a task, there is no such thing as cutting corners because your superiors expect you to execute all assignments to the best of you abilities, and to do it right the first time with minimal error. When you hold yourself to this higher standard it reflects well on you, not just as soldier, but as a person, because when you are a person that can be referred to as…

Leadership is defined as the process in which an individual influences the group of individuals to attain a common goal. The goal is attained by mutual cooperation and behavior. A leader has a sense of positivity and directs others to reach the specified goal. In The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, (JROTC) the leaders teach us how to become better leaders. They also teach us to build character and leadership by providing guidance and putting us cadets in a position that we are not accustomed to. This helps us adapt to new types of things. We also have to set the example for the school, especially when we wear our uniforms. When we put on that uniform it means we are to be a leader. People watch us because we have the uniform on and they know we are a part of JROTC therefore they expect more out of us. A leader is someone who stands not only for their cause but takes responsibility and motivates other individuals also. There is a difference between being a boss and a leader. A leader is a motivation for others and inspires individuals to aim higher and attain that aim. However, a boss only supervises over his inferiors. Power naturally comes to a leader but power has to be earned by a boss. The best leaders are those who can lead and direct without misuse of their power. They must be able to inspire others in a direction or greater good. They must be strong enough to stand firm in decision making and leading others without a selfish attitude. In order to be a successful leader it is essential to have good character. You must have honesty, confidence, communication, and commitment. You have to have honesty because if someone is doing something wrong you need to be able to have honest feedback. You need communication because you need to be able to command your platoon. You need to have commitment because you need to stick with it and create a relationship with your platoon so you, and they, will feel more…

Responsibility increases when soldiers believe that they have personal control over their mission performance, performing out of desire to do well instead of just following orders.
