Media is an instrument on communication, like a newspaper or a radio, so social media would be a social instrument of communication[1] and the governmental policy is the principled guide to action taken by the administrative executive branches of the state with regard to a class of issues in a manner consistent with law and institutional customs.[2] The essay question asks about the dangerous effects of these two, but doesn’t say in its question towards what or who the effects should be. The group that they are thinking of, is the whole human population.
Social media has both positive and negative outcomes to the people lives. The negative ones are the privacy question, how the privacy is not well protected in social media; isolation, how when people enter the social media world they kind of turn off themselves from the rest of the world; the propaganda, how through the social media people’s brains are being brainwashed, social media use techniques to change the individual’s values and beliefs and also the negative impact on the health, where sometimes the social media can lead people to being depressed or sad or just tired.
The governmental policy also uses propaganda, like the social media does. They use propaganda to change peoples’ opinions, perceptions, values in the way that is useful for them. Propaganda can be broadcasted through any medium, like books and newspapaers or anything else that is sent out to the widespread public.
