Main Cause Of World War One Going into a war that was predicted to change the world, soldiers were excited, however, they came home sad, broken and depressed if they even survived. This war was called World War One, The War to End All Wars, or The Great War. It was a violent battle between the triple entente and the triple alliance that dragged many other nations to war as well. The Triple Entente was made up of France, Russia, and Great Britain. The Triple Alliance was made up of Germany, Austria-hungary, and Italy. There were 30 other nations involved, including Turkey, Spain, Sweden, Serbia, etc. An estimated 20 million people died over the course of the war. It lasted about 5 years, from June 28th 1914 to November 11, 1918. There were many causes of World War one, for example, imperialism and nationalism had a small effect. Three main causes were the
