What is the Church?
What is the church’s purpose?
What is the Church? There are many different churches in America that say to be “Christian” and all claim to be the church that Jesus built, or say they are a part of it. We need to go back to the bible and see what it tells us (Christians and non-believers) about the church. The church is “an assembly” or “called out ones but to me it is the people that make up the church. It isn’t as people think and say today that it is a building; also to me it means a place of tongues and worship. The church (which comes from the Greek word ecclesia) is “the bride of Christ" and is ready for her groom. Furthermore, Jesus says there is only one church (Matthew16:16-18) which is the body of Christ, which Christ is the head. The church is not a “denomination” or no magical place for miracle, but not saying that miracles can’t be done just stating that it isn’t a magical place. Many churches have different heads like apostle, pastors, or bishops. But the bible recognizes the church as one head. (Ephesians1:22-23; Ephesians5:22-23). Likewise there is a local church, (Galations1:1-2; Paul, an apostle not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead, 2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia) just like the world now Galatia had many churches (local churches).Consequently, some people vote or get saved in a ministry or even go through a long class, but in Acts2:47 it says, -"...the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Too there is a universal church that accepts all people like in “1Corinthians12:13 that says,” For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” Additionally the church is made up of believers of Christ and has been in existence since the day of the Pentecost (Acts2) until Christ
