The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that is doing or being something.
You can find the subject of a sentence if you can find the verb.
What the verb is in a sentence:
The verb usually follows the subject and identifies an action or a state of being.
What the direct object is in a sentence:
The object that directly receives the action of the verb.
Example1:
Bill hit the ball. "Ball" receives the action of the verb "hit."
Example2:
Sherry reads the book. "Book" receives the action of the verb "reads
The direct object answers the question "what?" or "whom?" with regard to what the subject of the sentence is doing.
Exampel1:
Bill hit the ball. Bill hit what? Bill hit the ball.
Example2:
Sherry hit Bill. Sherry hit whom? Sherry hit Bill.
What the direct object pronoun is in a sentence:
When the pronoun replaces the name of the direct object, use the following pronouns: me (me) te (you-familiar) lo, la (him, her, it, you-formal) nos (us) os (you-all-familiar) los, las (them, you-all-formal) the direct object pronoun comes immediately before the conjugated verb.
Tengo = I have Tengo la pluma. = I have the pen.
La tengo. = I have it.
The pronoun (la) comes immediately before the verb (tengo)

I steal the car
I steal it.
Example 2:
I love chocolate
I love it.
