The first and foremost, is Jeremy “Jem” Finch. One example is while sneaking onto the Radley property Nathan Radley shoots at them, and while escaping he gets his jeans caught in the fence. The brave part is how he returned later to the property to retrieve his pants, which had been folded. Another courageous moment is when a mob gathered to lynch Tom Robinson, Jem sneaks out with Scout to face the crowd. Jeremy also sits in the colored balcony, and that adds to their judgement from others. He also shows strength when Bob Ewell breaks his arm and he takes it pretty well. She is probably the one whom shows the most courage from the whole story. She defends a fellow student, when the teacher decides to pick on him. She was sent home because of this. When the mob was about to lynch Mr. Robinson, she somewhat stopped it; by talking to one of the men about his son who was picked on. The man dispersed this mob afterwards. Scout also sees Boo Radley in a different perspective, in which he represents the Mockingbird and also saved her. This is courage as many people disagree, and believe he belongs in a asylum.
