been changed a lot after moved to America. I came to New York straight from Pakistan, and my whole family were so nervous and excited. I had a lot of dreams, when I came to America. I stayed at my aunty house for one month, then my dad's friend told my dad to find a house in Maryland, Baltimore state, because my dad's friend was the only person, we used to know in America, that's why we came to Maryland after a month and he helped us to show where school's at and where we can find jobs. Honestly, our first year in America as a nonimmigrant was so hard, my mom and dad had problems to get a job and they really work hard as low prices salaries. Before came to America, I used to think everything will be so easy to achieve in America, but when I came here.
I went to the school, experienced different cultures and people my way of thinking has been changed. life.
There are many struggles, that me and my family has been faced, such as financially issues, ID problems, my dad's Bypass operation and my sister's wedding.
We had a lot of financially problems, such as to pay lawyers a lot of money for our immigration case, pay rents and we don't have a car, me and my whole family used to travel on buses and cabs, we spend a lot of money on these rides. We having issues to make ID's in America, because we don't have a social security number, that's why my mom and dad didn't get a license and car. After 2 years, my dad had a heart attack, that time was hard because we don’t know anyone here and we manage hospitals bills and rides to go meet my dad in hospital. My dad was sick, that's why my sister got married to my cousin, because she was engaged since she was 16 years
old.
After these struggles, my dad was so disappointed from his life, he wanted to see my older sister's wedding, that's why he didn’t waste his time and let her marry, when my sister got married, that time was difficult for me, because she used to handle all the things such as bills, medicine prescriptions and house related issues, after that I was the oldest one so these all responsibilities were on me. Since then to now, I managed my high school, college life, job and house related issues alone to help my family after my sister. These all struggles that me and my family had been faced, teaches us in this world everything is hard to achieve but nothing is impossible when god and elder's prayers are with you.
