When I Was Moving To Twin Falls, Idaho
The day that changed my life was when I found out I was moving to Twin Falls, Idaho. I did not want to move because I was already settled into my life in Winnemucca, Nevada. I had already lived there for ten years my friends were the best and I was doing really good in school. I remember that day my parents told me we might be moving like if it was yesterday. During this time it was summertime and I was at a youth conference my sister was talking to my mom on the phone when she said we might be moving. At first no one really believed her because throughout the school year she was telling us the exact same thing so we thought she was joking. When we get home from the youth conference we found out it was true. My parents wanted to leave in one week so we started packing up everything like …show more content…
Once school started I was having a hard time wanting to go to school. I went to Twin Falls High School at this point but I didn't not like it there. They made me feel very uncomfortable because no one wanted to talk to me and at lunch they just kept staring at me so I felt like a loner. I hated school so much more than usual because I did not like being the new girl that had no friends. Some of it is my fault because I am too shy to talk to people first they would have to be the ones that said something to me. A year later here I am going to Canyon Ridge High School which in my opinion is a better school and I have made more friends here than all last year. We have finally gotten used to our lives here and it feels good. At this point I feel like we are finally at a stable place. My parents have worked so hard for us just so we could have a nice house and food on our table. I am now thankful that we moved to Twin. I don't think I have been in such a happy mood for a while and it feels really nice. All I ask of my parents is that we do not move

The American Revolutionary war is a war that changed the American history because America was able to gain freedom from England. When looking at this war after many years and analyzing all the conflicts that lead to it, it can be concluded that the war could have been avoided. There are several reasons that ignited the war such as the refusal of the Olive Branch Petition by King George III, the Pamphlet, Common Sense, published by Thomas Paine that stirred up the colonists, and the several acts passed against the colonists by the British Parliament, and the Albany Plan of Union, that had a great potential in preventing the war. If the British parliament responded to the concerns, grievances and proposals of the colonists, things would have turned out differently.…

When I got to the age I could start school, I was excited. I started school like any other kids my age did. Kindergarten through first grade were fun for me. Second grade came and that is when things started happening that I did not like, and third grade I absolutely hated. I was being bullied and was ignored by teachers. I was viewed differently just because that school thought I should have been in special ed. They got their way for a little while, by having my parents sign some papers that would provide some extra help, but the contract never said I would be in special ed. My parents were absolutely furious when they found out I was in special ed when they did not give permission to the school to put me in there. So came the time to move. I started attending Udall Schools in fourth grade. I was welcomed by a class that was eager to know me and teachers willing to help. My teachers helped me learn the concepts I missed from the previous school.…

Summer went bye like it wasn't even there and by the time school started I was very depressed. The new school I was going to was Naperville North High School which was about ten times the size of my old school in Pennsylvania in size and in the number of students. In my school in Pennsylvania there were about twelve students in each class, here the number runs around thirty two. The school building was so big I had a lot of trouble getting to class on time let alone finding them in the building. The school wasn't what I was bothered by the most because it was the fact that I didn't have any social life and I was a social person. There were a lot of different groups of people at my new high school, it was tough for me to fit in and meet new people. Everyone just knew me as the new kid and didn't even bother to find out what my real name was. The first month of being the new kid is a very hard month of school. I knew no one who I had anything in common with and began to get terrible grades in…

John Cassavetes’ film Faces (1968) exemplifies his loose editing, basic lighting, documentary style of footage. Cassavetes didn’t have a concern for the filming techniques that are most recognized in Hollywood and art films. He supported and focused on accommodating the spontaneity of his actors while still sticking to the script. Cassavetes’ films have a strikingly alive and spontaneous approach, which makes it hard to believe there’s a script to follow. His style of filming comes filled with dancing, laughing, fighting, and crying.…

It all started with this very simple question, “Do you want to move to Florida?” When my mom had asked that, we had just came back from our spring break vacation in Florida. We lived in Kentucky and my siblings and I went to St. Albert, I was in fifth grade. Of course when my mom said that my whole family thought it was a joke, so we all had said sure to the idea. About a week later, I forgot about the question, so after school one day my parents had told me and my siblings they had a surprise for us. Little did I know that we were actually moving to Florida.…

I remember the day clearer than any other. I was in 5th grade. My mom sat me down and told me my father would be living in another home. They called it “temporary.” “It will end” “It is not divorce”, they said. This, age nine, is when the constant packing, unpacking and swapping from house to house began. This lasted about a year until my Dad moved back in. We were whole, again. That was the happiest month I can really remember. Having two parents say goodnight to me, not having to repeat each story twice, and meals with someone at each head of the table. Everything was perfect. Until we decided to all go out to a family dinner. At this dinner my parents dropped one word.…

My family was never a rich family to begin with. My father, mother, and I migrated from Dominican Republic in 1998, following my father’s side of the family to create a better life for themselves and their kids in the near or far future. Like most families who’ve come to a new country without a dime, my parents tried to get jobs to get us an apartment just for ourselves. The struggle they had gone through to get to where I am today is unbelievable, and I am so grateful for everything they have done. During my life, my parents have had to go though some hardships with the downpour of the economy after 9/11, to my dad getting sick and not being able to work for a couple of months.…
