Rosa Parks is a hero because she was able to stand up for herself on the bus. This was when the driver asked her to give her seat to a white person and she refused to do it (Rosa Parks My Story). The primary reason she had refused was because she knew that the Jim Crow laws were awful and unfair for blacks. The other reason was that she was tired of giving in.This demonstrated that Rosa was tired of giving in but the actions she took had serious consequences. This makes her a hero because she had stood up for herself during segregation which was really dangerous back then. …show more content…
During this time Rosa Parks also stood up for others.
One way she stood up for others was by influencing the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Montgomery bus boycott was 391 days long and the busses had to shut down because they were not making any money (The Story Behind The bus freedom Walkers). The company eventually let blacks sit wherever they wanted (The Story Behind The bus freedom Walkers). This evidence shows that Parks wanted to stand up for other black people on the buses because they were also forced give up their seats and sit somewhere else or stand. The way this makes her a hero because is that she stood up for the people that couldn’t stand up for
themselves.
The last reason she is a hero is that she stopped segregation. After her arrest the court took notice of her arrest and took measures (Rosa Parks My Story). They fined her with a ticket of $4 which was a lot of money back then. After her arrest Rosa Started a Boycott which led people to protest against segregation. After the boycott the Supreme Court stopped segregation because there was too many people protesting and there was no way they could stop them.(Rosa Parks My Story) The evidence shows that Rosa inspired many people to stand up and to stop segregation. This makes her a hero because thanks to her inspiring so many people they stood up and helped her stand up against segregation.
Rosa Parks is a hero because she was able to stand up for herself, she was able to stand up for others, and was able to stop segregation. In body paragraph 1 it shows how parks was brave and stood up for herself when she was asked to give up her seat.In body paragraph 2 it shows how she stood up for the other black people on buses that were forced to give up their seats and how she started a boycott to stop that.On the last body paragraph I wrote about how Rosa was able to stop segregation with the help of the black people that wanted to stop segregation too. This was how Rosa Parks was a hero by inspiring other people to help her with the dream to stop segregation and how she stood up for herself.
