I think one of the main reasons why Alexander was such an outstanding leader was because of his intelligence. Alexander carefully planned orders so that him and his troops could get past obstacles. A really good example is when Alexander used Porus’ elephants as a weapon. He and his troop shouted and raised the war cry so that elephants went towards the shouting. Then he would move his army on all different directions so that Porus would keep puzzled. Finally, Alexander boxed the elephants in, and they trampled people. Due to his hard work and determination, Alexander conquered and renamed 11 cities, many of which were now named ‘’Alexandria’’ after him. I don’t think any ruler could conquer so many cities in a short span of time, so I think that Alexander’s achievement is quite outstanding!
