My reasoning for this choice is quite simple, as Friar Lawrence was the one who overall kick started their deaths. Frair Lawrence, a neutral friend of both families, plotted for Juliet to act dead, and, in doing so, caused Romeo to believe his love had truly lost her life. Of course, not everything here was this man's fault; having sent out a letter to reach Romeo prior to her “death”, he had planned on everything going smoothly, and the young couple freely running off together. Of course, that did not happen, and, as shown in Act 5, Scene 2: “Unhappy Fortune! By my brotherhood, the letter was not nice but full of charge of dear import, and the neglecting it may do much danger…”(Act 5, Scene 2). By this phrase, the Frair is declaring how important the undelivered letter truly was, and how it’s failure would lead to fatality. If not for an off-scene, compelling force, the letter would have delivered, and no death would be
