Why Abortion Should Be Illegal
I strongly believe that abortion should be illegal. I think it should be considered murder. You are killing a human being, the only difference is that it hasn’t been born yet. You are losing a life that could be very important. You never know, the life you just took away could have been the next president, or the environmentalist who saves the world! People should take more consideration about what they are doing to the precious life inside of them when they get an abortion. I am strongly against abortion because I believe that it is murder, it can harm the mother, and there are many alternatives of abortion that are also safer solutions. First of all, abortion is murder. An embryo is a human at conception, therefore, you are killing a human. Unborn babies are more than just “potential life”. I believe that when a baby is conceived, they already have a purpose in the world. Killing an unborn baby is no better than killing a 30 year old. That 30 year old had a purpose in life too. Also, you took the chance for them to serve their purpose. Since abortion was legalized, in 1973, around 56 million unborn babies have been killed by abortion, which …show more content…
The mother may not be able to have children in the future. There are many medical and emotional consequences of an abortion. Women who have abortions are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide. Having an abortion also doubles the risk of having preterm birth in later pregnancies. It can cause heavy bleeding, infection, and even death. Having an abortion can also cause lots of illnesses, as there is a link between abortions and breast cancer. I think that many women rely on abortion for unwanted children without being aware of the risks. Having an abortion is a very dangerous option for women, so they should highly consider whether it is the right decision or not. Rather than dangerously aborting the child, they should consider other, safer,

It is hard to find a single definition for the word “abortion.” Dictionary.com states that an abortion is also called voluntary abortion and it is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy. However, google states that an abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy. On the contrary, Merriam Webster defines an abortion as a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus. Just reading these definitions begin the argument of whether or not abortion should be legal and if it is “morally” right. Abortion has become a popular topic of discussion across politics and within churches. Although both sides have valid arguments, it is up to the woman carrying the child to decide whether she will keep the child or not. No government, nor religion should force someone into making a decision they weren’t fully supportive of.…

    Why Abortion Is Immoral

Why Abortion Is Immoral was written by Don Marquis. His thesis is described in the title. He started off by establishing some historical facts about abortion. According him there were no laws prohibiting abortion in the United States until well into the 19th century. By the 20th century every state passed laws to prohibit it. In 1973 in the case Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that the laws outlawing abortion violated women’s rights to privacy. He then implies that the legal status of abortion could possibly change in the near future. Marquis believes that the crucial moral question about abortion is “Do we have the same reasons not to kill a fetus that we have not to kill an adult?” He believes it’s wrong because it deprives them of their future. According to Marquis, abortion is seriously immoral with rare exceptions.…
