Why are teachers having to struggle and get paid so much less than sports players? A teacher makes a child grow and grasp material and prepares them for the future, and gives them insightful knowledge and a purpose, so they can truly grow into an adult, and give them skills for the rest of their life’s. An athlete just plays a game which they are not only good at but also love doing. So why is an athlete living the American dream earning million dollar contacts while a teacher is stuck in the middle class life grading papers, when they do so much more than an athlete ever does. Giving the student the choice to do something great with their life and giving them helpful insight and a creative way of learning concepts. Whether or not the student decides to commit and work hard is really up to them, a teacher is someone that engages students to try new things and learn differently, really taking the time to understand everyone’s challenges and adjust accordingly. On the other side most athletes most of the time have little or no interaction with their following sometimes even ignoring them or leaving them feeling unimportant. The most that Athletes do is donate their change to the community, or by being paid to sign autographs to fans. So why are we glorifying all they do other than providing Sunday night entertainment for the family. If all they really do is play a couple hours on a field each week and earn millions of dollars for being good at a specific sport. Most teachers have to be exceled in many subjects like math, reading, and science to earn the teaching degrees. Most teachers spend hours outside of the classroom grading papers, giving feedback, grading tests, and making sure they commit to their students in providing …show more content…
Even off the field athletes sometimes will do nothing for their following and still are praised for what they do, even if that means they don’t involve them self’s in their fans that support them the most. The life of a teacher is to pay attention to kids and help them learn. Is it really that fair that one plays a game for a couple of hours a week and a career that last about 10 years, then a long career teaching kids for the future where it’s much more meaningful doing
