One of the reasons why the U.S Constitution and system of government has been so successful is because of the 1st Amendment’s freedom of speech. The 1st Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech…”. This makes the constitution very successful because citizens don't feel restricted about what they say, do and think. In section 1 of the 15th Amendment, ¨The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” This means that all races have the right to vote, and their vote cannot be denied. This is a very successful part of the U.S Constitution and system of government because you need all opinions on a subject. An African American could be a better choice for being a president than the other candidates, and if the 15th Amendment wasn't an amendment, you could have a president who might not be the best choice while there was an African American candidate much more fit for the job. Some citizens do not agree with this amendment, which causes violence.
