The Constitution Preamble states “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”.
Our Veterans secured our freedom for over 200 years. They are defending and protecting that freedom to the present day. There have been many wars (including a civil war) since then and our veterans have continued to defend and secure our homeland. Veterans are the backbone of our past History and Future. Veterans serve with Duty, Honor, and Country. My grandfather served in the Vietnam War and his father served in WW2. Most every family has had a member serve in the military; many giving their lives for their country. You might say veterans are the core of the country’s existence. When you go to Arlington National Cemetery; you cannot help but feel the presence of the souls of over 400,000 military who served their country. We also have many cemeteries overseas where over 124,000 veterans gave their lives for our freedom. I was able to visit the Cambridge American Cemetery in England, where over 3000 of our combat veterans are
