My parents had me involved in many basketball camps and programs. The sport is like a stress reliever for me also, when I am overwhelmed about something I just take it all out on the court. If I was ever going to quit basketball I never thought it would be like this. Maybe because I got injured or was starting my career, never did I think it would be because I am working. When I was 14 and got my first job at Six Flags Great Adventures, the sneaker collection begun. I bout my first pair of LeBron’s and worn them to a Cleveland Cavilers game and was lucky enough to get them signed by LeBron James himself. That’s what got the ball rolling on my sneaker collection. Now that I work at Nike it is just a bonus because I get the sneakers and love what I do. Nike is not a career for me but at this time in my life it is an amazing job for me.
I talked to my friends and family about the decision but they were not much help. My parents told me to do whatever made me happy, but remember I like the finer things in life and I have to work for them. They were basically telling me “play basketball but we will not be supporting your sneaker collection” in an indirect way. Talking to my friends they said “play basketball because we miss going to your games”, but when it’s time to go out make sure you have money. Everyone was basically telling me to play basketball but keep in mind I need money for other things, but no one is trying to make the decision for
