Domestic Violence or physical and psychological violence used to dominate another is very common. It occurs in all cultures people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexes and classes can be perpetrators of domestic violence. Unfortunately violence affects many early in their lives impacting unmarried couples. Statistics show 1 and 3 young people experience violence while dating. Violence in dating relationships can begin as early as grade school, affect both sexes and escalate with increased emotional involvement. Understanding dating violence among adolescents is particularly important. If left undetected and untreated, early patterns of abuse can set the stage for future relationships and marriage. Unfortunately, there are many psychological and social factors that cause people to remain in these relationships despite the harm that it causes both emotionally and physically. Violence in relationships is very common amongst high-school students and adults in or not attending college. Alcohol and drugs such as Rophynol increase this risk of abuse in dating relationships and the likelihood of a date rape occurring.…
The first dating rule for my children would be that they have to be at least an eighth grader. Even then, I have to approve of their choice. I know from experience that not being allowed to date can cause teenage kids to rebel. If the person my kid likes feels the same way, they deserve to try dating. Especially because it is not too serious when they cannot yet drive to dates. I think by the age of 14-15, they can become more independent and make their own choices. Letting teenage kids date is a small thing as a parent that means a lot to kids.…

Ughhhh. Parents am I right? They’re always telling us to clean our room, brush our teeth, get our homework done, but should they be able to tell us who and who not to date? Its an interesting question when you look at it from both points of view. As a parent, you want the best for your kids and the old saying goes, parents (or mothers) know best. But as a young adult you want freedom and control of your life. Even after looking at both sides, it’s clear that parents make the best decisions.…
Teen romance is like a minefield – very few make it through completely unscathed, and the path is often strewn with the shrapnel of countless broken hearts. According to common wisdom, the reason behind all this affliction is because teenagers are capricious creatures who lack the maturity to resolve relationship issues. However, maturity is not the only key factor playing into why teen couples just are not staying together happily. Social media pressures young people to be in constant contact with one another, meaning they can constantly monitor the other. Maturity and social media are large factors in the way many relationships play out nowadays, but the same people writing articles about the topic are the ones forgetting the most important factor; communication. Building an emotional relationship and being able to relate and interact with your partner is the foundation to a truly satisfying and healthy relationship.…

Young men in college, especially “frat stars” are known for preying on attractive young girls that they can hook up with. They find this advantageous to the standard dating. There is less pressure for the man. In dating, typically, the man must muster the courage to ask the girl to go on a date with him for fear of rejection. Once this hurdle is overcome, the guy is responsible for arranging the date and making it enjoyable. This includes all the planning and paying for the food and entertainment (Bradshaw et. al. 2). Overall, there is a lot of pressure put on the man in dating.…
Is it too soon to talk about boy/girl relationships in elementary school? Of course it is, you say! Well, you may not want to hear about it, or you may choose denial over reality, but the fact remains that children are playing out the cultural role that they are being taught as early as 2nd grade. Therefore, the relationship between boys and girls at every school (Christian and non- Christian) is a topic that needs to be discussed from a Biblical standpoint.…
I personally believe that parents should make the decision of when they are going to let their child start dating, based upon their personal beliefs and understanding of their teen's emotional and physical development. Even though there is some agreement as to what is too early, there is no universal right age. However involvement in a serious romantic relationship in early teen years can create problems. There is a research that demostrates that children of ages ten to twelve who begin dating, start to concentrate less in school grades. Just because most of the children are dating at an early age doesn't mean it's a good thing. Once kids start dating, their mind is quiet often more concerned with their relationship than other activities they should be thinking about.…
