Why is having good dental hygiene important?
Dental hygiene is so important and should be a part of everyones daily life. Not only if you have bad teeth will people notice them, but your overall health will be effected. Fantastic dental hygiene begins when you’re just an infant. Here are a couple of examples why you should practice great dental hygiene.
First we start off with good oral hygiene. It is so important to brush your teeth thoroughly twice daily; you should brush at a 45 degree angle, gently brush the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces. Brushing your teeth is so important because it prevents tooth decay and also prevents periodontal disease. Only brushing your teeth two times daily will not remove all the bacteria in your mouth, you also should brush your tongue. Your tongue harbors a lot of bacteria which can result in teeth decay, if brushing your tongue triggers gag reflexes use a tongue scraper. It is very important to make sure no bacteria is left behind. Second is flossing your teeth, you should floss your teeth to get the trapped food and also plaque from in between your teeth. Thirdly, finish up your day with rinsing with a mouth rinse, most mouth rises will kill up to 99% of all bacteria in your mouth. You should have the rinse in your mouth for one- two minutes.
Although good oral hygiene consists of what is listed, you should also keep a well-balanced diet. Try not to drink a lot of sugary or acidic drinks, also your food should be clean and contain little carbohydrates and sugars. Make sure you don’t snack as much through the day, it not only cause weight gain, but also can cause tooth decay. Water also a prevention from cavities and tooth decay, after you eat rinse your mouth with some water if you’re not near a toothbrush.
Visiting your dentist regularly with cleaning every 6 months- 12 months will keep your gums and teeth always healthy. Your smile is the most important body feature make sure you take great
