Christopher was the son of Domenico Columbo & Susanna Fontanarosa. He also had a brother, Bartholomew Columbus. His birth was never known but is guessed to be in Genoa, Italy in 1451. In his teenage years, he got a job on a merchant ship. He kept that job until 1476. He was attacked on his ship by pirates along the Portages coast as it sailed North.
He died on May 20, 1506. He was mainly known/famous for, he founded “The New World”. On his Santa Maria ship. But Christopher didn’t find/discover North America. Even though he found “The New World” he was looking for a shortcut to India, China, Japan …show more content…
The history of his mission started with some past information like, Father Antonio Margil de Jesus was the founder of San Jose’s mission, it was founded in 1720. The description of his mission is, 204 Indians were assigned to the following missions: farming, irrigation, & construction. Also, the life at the mission looked like, The men and women had very different jobs for example women cook, served food and made soap, men built adobe houses and raised animals. And lastly anything specific starts with, San José y San Miguel de Aguayo. As a Spanish mission for about 104 years, they have baptized over 2,000 Native
