The fact is, at my home country that career was one year less and I already passed the first year; meaning I could graduate earlier. There were a couple of subjects the first year that I did not like and going to Costa Rica meant I had to take them again. Adding to the negative side was the budget. At home, Universities had no tuition fees, so I was not paying for my education at the moment. On the other hand, there was a lot of political and civil unrest that was affecting Universities more and more. I had my car stolen at the campus parking lot, two of my classmates were assaulted leaving class, and professors were threatening on going on strike due to payments being delayed.
This decision will not only affect me in the next couple of years but also my whole life. If I continued with medical school outside my home country, I would have to go through special evaluations if I ever planned to return and practice medicine.
