Why Did South Kill Reconstruction

Who killed reconstruction?Why did they kill reconstruction?South or North?It is definitely a topic that is important in American history.Reconstruction is a an era after the Civil War when the south was absolutely destroyed,getting the economy back up,and seeing what to with the “Freedmen”.Since most of the war was mostly fought in the south,the entire south was burned down,all the buildings or houses had bullet holes or cannon shots in them,which was all part of the reconstruction.There were all types of emotions and feelings about this era,some wanted to free the African-American slaves but on the other side some people/groups didn’t want them.In my honest opinion I believe that both the South and North had a part in killing reconstruction
Grant.Many Northern voters moved to the attention of the Panic of 1873 and the corruption of President Grant.He was a drunk and full of frauds. According to Gerald Danzer and his article,The Americans,Mcdougal Littell 1998, he wrote “...many Northerner voters shifted their attention to such national concerns as the panic of 1873 and corruption in Grant’s administration…”.This means that although the Northern people liked Grant because he was a Northerner,it became noticeable he might’ve been reconsidered because of his scandals and his place in being a drunk as the president.Even some people being pro-Grant and pro-freedman,they thought the blacks were unsuitable for “political duties”.Also stated in document d, “The blacks,as a people,are unfitted for the proper exercise for political duties...The rising generation of...blacks needed a period of probation and instruction…”This quote means that the blacks weren’t educated enough to be in a big position of government because they have no experience and have forgotten their condition as a slave.This shows how some Northerners weren’t always on the freedman side because they were indecisive and at a point corrupt with Grant being
