The Protestant Reformation was a major 16th century European movement aimed to reform the Roman Catholic Church (The Protestant Reformation np). The Catholic Church was very corrupt. John wycliffe questioned the clergy. He said a person does not need church, just the Bible.He also questioned relics. Relics are items that have religious value. Jan Hus had the same beliefs as John Wycliffe did. John Wycliffe was asked to go to the council to speak among them but he did not go. In his place, Jan Hus went. He asked for safe passage to the council. He gets there safely but when he arrives before the council, the council burns him at the stake.
