Why Did You Use Walk-In Tutor Sessions?
The two academic resources that I have used on campus were the walk-in tutor sessions, both being the enjoyment of music. The reasons behind me choosing both being music tutor sessions, I think that's the class I will have and have right now the most trouble with in the future and I know it's my least favorite class of this semester. Using the walk-in tutor sessions are better for students who don’t want to schedule sessions or made a last minute decision that they may need help with. Also there are other people in the classes, not only the tutor but other students that need help are in the room with you that might have the same problem as you. You can also meet other people to study with and form study groups with. I think that the walk-ins …show more content…

For example keeping me on schedule for upcoming test and speeches in the future. It has also, helped me with finding resources to use for if I need help with anything. Besides helping me stay organized it has pushed me to keep doing better in all of my classes and to not procrastinate like I used to in high school for studying for exams and tests.
Using the resources I will probably use the walk-ins because they are so much easy then making an appointment with a tutor when you can just walk-in get help and get out. If you have the walk-in tutor schedule you can just look on the sheet to see the available times, where the are located, and who the the tutor is.
I think my view on the academic success program has definitely changed from the beginning of the semester till now. One reasons being I felt at the beginning of the year I thought I would need to schedule more appointments than just one at the beginning of the week but when classes started to pick up I realized it was just a small step up from the high school I went too. I am glad though that I have this class because I think I would end up procrastinating a lot of the time or even use some of the resources given to

The setting that is most suitable for Joe in this particular situation is setting A. by having the Title 1 teacher teach the lesson each day that Joe would miss from class enables Joe to still work on this assignment and work towards reaching his goals. One benefit of Title 1 reading is that the Title 1 teacher can make this the goal of the week for the other four children in the tutoring session as well. This could very well be an assignment that they that they could each benefit from and that way Joe is not disrupting the tutoring session by coming in late, nor is he left to try to figure it out on his own at home.…

I started as everyone else did, “Hello World”. For my entire academic career, I have always been looking for the most efficient way to complete a task. In high school, it would obliterate my enthusiasm when I had to complete history book problem sets. The teacher would always give 20 questions, say which chapters the answers are within, and set us loose. I thought to myself “I should not be doing this; this is a waste of my time”. I longed for our textbooks and assignments to go online so that I could just use the find function to instantly find the answers and fill in the assignment. No one read the chapters to learn the content, therefore everyone’s time was wasted. Thinking like this led me to fill out online worksheets and assignments incredibly efficiently. For example, I would open a word document, write my name, class, and date. I would then copy that to multiple documents so that I could save a few seconds each time I started a document. It wasn’t until learning python that I experienced a whole new world of possibilities to make my life easier. Even starting by printing concatenated strings was interesting. From there I could foresee the possibilities that python could bring. After getting into more complicated problems with python, I felt able to tackle some of my own problems, not just made up ones the teacher assigned. I made an easy to use financial calculator program that could find future values, present values, interest rates,…

I volunteered for the community prior, but I had to find a different organization to volunteer with. Without the help of an online university website that listed organizations, it would have taken longer for me to find an organization, complete the hours, and become involved in a part of society. Although I did not physically change a problem, I did help raise awareness and make an event possible. I still learned important life skills that I will…

Using the resources that has been set for me has been a vital part of me excelling in class. Reviewing my notes, homework, and test have helped me stay on top of my grades. Being able to review the material has allowed me to study the material and use it for future classes. The Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) program has been a vital resource in my achievement in high school. AVID taught me time management skills, how to take quick in depth notes called Cornell Notes, study skills and techniques, and how to interpret information into higher level questions to make sure I knew the information I am receiving in class. Then in AVID class I was able to come to class with questions I needed guidance with and have a college student tutor me. With AVID giving me much needed strategies, resources, and the guidance of tutors I am able to excel in my classes.…

For example, learning all these subjects in one class helped me not be bored, as frank as that sounds. When I took these classes separately in high school, I would get annoyed because they all were so similar and nothing would overlap and it was just so much separate work. I like the setup of homework and the papers. Reading is one of my favorite things, therefore having to read for class and then having to write a first pass benefited my learning. Just having lectures separated by subjects but still incorporating other subjects is really helpful for me. I really appreciate the intertwining dynamic between the classes and…
