Why Didn T Washington Get Me Wrong
I am not sure. It seems like he did not do anything wrong, but he also didn’t do anything good. I think that when American ships were being attacked by England, I think it was ok for him to follow in Washington’s steps. I also think that it was wrong of him too. He did not have to follow in Washington’s steps, he could have done what he thought is right for the country and not just what Washington did. Don’t get me wrong, Washington was brilliant, but not all actions he took are going to work out the same way for other presidents. I also am skeptical of what he would have done for us if he were to be our president. It is unclear to me whether or not he would have done great things to keep our government and nation a good place back in the

I think George Washington was a strong successful president. I feel he was impartial, smart and a leader. He was thoughtful and had military experience. His decision to remain neutral in the war was a great move because it made us not choose sides until we had to and that way we weren’t enemies with either country. I think Washington was strategic with this move, he was a fair president. Overall, looked at both sides, tried to do what was right and honest. I think he was was a man of integrity and that is an important thing in a president.…

The tactical actions of General George Washington were a key factor in the outcome of the War of Independence. Washington’s foremost principle was to constantly be on the offensive, as America did not possess a comprehensive strategy for the conduct of the war.10 Often times, Washington’s aggressive military instincts were shot down by councils of war. Washington once convened a council of war to consider a strike against the British garrison in Staten Island before it was reinforced.11 Washington desired to get the upper hand against the British, testing one of the most experienced and professional army in the world.12 The council of war perceived this orchestration of disaster, and quickly agreed unanimously that the plan should not go through. Subsequently, this proved aggressive…

As the first president of the United States, George Washington was greatly influential in shaping the government to be the one we have today. Prior to his political career, Washington began as a soldier in the French and Indian War, where he was rewarded with the rank of colonel for leading a poorly trained army of 150 men to defeat a French force and kill a French minister. However, Washington resented the Royal government’s lack of respect for colonial leaders and resigned. After his resignation, Washington displayed strong leadership skills as the justice of peace in Fairfax County, a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, and as a vestryman. During the Revolutionary War, Washington was appointed commander of all the colonial forces after the battles of Lexington and Concord. His victories maintained the patriotic morale of the…

George Washington was a leader, for instance he motivated the Continental Army to keep fighting even when they had lost almost all hope. On March 10, 1775 Washington was appointed as Commander of the Continental Army. Washington decided to deny the salary that came with his job because he felt in debt to our community even though with this position as commander he would've received a large salary. As British troops marched into our country, he motivated our troops to work as one and gain back the hope of winning. We may lose a battle, but we aren't going to lose this war was the mindset he had put in their heads.…

GW: At the time of the appointment, I was a member of the second Continental Congress and fighting had already broken out in Massachusetts and Congress wanted to raise an army quick, so they unanimously selected me for the task due to my previous participation in the French and Indian War. This was not a position that I wanted or sought out; instead I avoided it at all costs as is seen in my letter to Martha immediately following my appointment to commander-in-chief. Even though I could have declined I believed that doing so would have dishonored me and pained my friends (“Washington to Martha Washington” 1). I did not want to be away from my family nor did I think that I was worthy of the job yet out of a sense of duty for my country and a…

I believe that George Washington, our very first President, had the biggest of successes. He had to figure out how to run a country. He had no one to look up to. He did everything on his own. Being the first, and not having experience, I think he didn't do that bad of a job. Another one of Washington's successes was that he led the Continental Army. He led the army into victory. Winning a war is a major success. Not only did Washington participate in the war, he led the army who fought and won the war. Washington also faced failures. He had a problem with the Indian tribes in the US. The British began to supply the Indians with arms and ammunition to attack the US settlers. Another failure of Washington was that he always seemed to side more with Hamilton. Not many people liked that idea. Washington also had slaves. Many people disagreed with the idea of slaves but Washington still had them, as our President.…

Firstly, George Washington was commander in chief during the Revolutionary war. His ability to lead his troops had saved the war efforts multiple times. The first instance is when Washington and his troops had crossed the delaware river. They had done this on Christmas day in 1776, and had taken Hessian mercenaries stationed in Trenton by surprise, allowing them to temporarily occupy and capture Trenton. The second instance of this is when Washington had managed to single handedly save the war effect in the winter of 1777. By this point Washington and his army were forced to retreat to valley…

On December 13, 1937 in order to break the spirit of Chinese resistance, Japanese General Matsui Iwane ordered that the city of Nanking be destroyed. Much of the city was burned, and Japanese troops launched a campaign of atrocities against civilians. In what became known as the "Rape of Nanking," the Japanese butchered an estimated 150,000 male "war prisoners," massacred an additional 50,000 male civilians, and raped at least 20,000 women and girls of all ages, many of whom were mutilated or killed in the process.…
