Why Do Athletes Get Paid Too Much
Imagine playing a childhood favorite game and making millions of dollars. This is what athletes all around the world do for a living. They have astronomical salaries, and hardly work to make their money. Also, they don’t save lives but earn more money than people who do. While they are always putting a burden on their bodies, they don’t deserve this much money.

Athletes barely work for their money. Approximately 50 percent of NBA players play about 30 minutes per game, yet still, make 7,000 to 290,000 dollars per game. Even though they spend a colossal amount of time sitting on the bench, they receive such ludicrous pay. These athletes play about 100 games per season. That is nearly 700,000 to 29,000,000 dollars a year. That’s without

Athletes don’t go out every day, risking their lives for other people. On the other hand, firefighters, police officers, detectives, and individuals with several other jobs do. However, police officers only earn a measly 60,270 dollars per year. Firefighters make even less, at around 46,870 dollars per year. Average athletes of any sport can generate around 17 times more than an average police officer and approximately 21 times more than a firefighter. Police officers and firefighters provide us with security, while athletes just entertain us. Athletes should make less than what they do because they just fuel entertainment.

Although athletes make a lot, they put immense amounts strain on their bodies. In most games, athletes work hard, and there are several instances where athletes have injured themselves. In 2005, Mike Cameron broke two cheekbones and got a concussion. That could impact their entire career and their whole life. However, athletes have a high enough pay to get surgery and to recover. Also, athletes can use what they have made in their previous years.

In conclusion, athletes should not make these ridiculous amounts of money. They aren’t saving lives, yet are making a plethora more than someone who does. Plus, they hardly work for their pay. Several people agree that they deserve much less than their current salaries. Athletes should get much less

The salaries of professional and collegiate athletes have always been a matter of debate. How much or how little athletes are being paid, and how it affects the sport, has been in countless discussions between players, fans, reporters, agents, and sports analysts. Some believe that players don’t deserve huge contracts, and most players that have huge contracts are overpaid and it hurts the sport. Then again, others feel that players work hard for their contracts and most athletes deserve their money. My stance on the issue is probably the same as most fans, and different from most owners. The sports industry racks in huge sums of money every year and if athletes aren’t receiving that money, most likely the owners and commissioners are collecting most of the money. I personally feel that the athletes are doing the most work therefore; they should be getting paid the most. I understand that a lot of work goes on behind the scenes when it comes to sports, but it’s unfair to athletes to give most of the money to owners while the athletes are doing all of the hard work.…

Hundreds of Millions of dollars all around the world are being used to pay our athletes. My question is should they be paid this astronomical amount of money. Certain athletes earn millions while various people all around the world can barely afford the necessities, such as food, water and shelter. This is a problem that desperately needs to be addressed. To achieve this we should employ taxes, but the money made off this should go to charity, also we should lower salary caps, thus we restrict the amounts teams can spend on their players. In this report, I will be explaining why athletes should be paid less…

Others believe college athletes should be compensated because of their vital role in the arena of professional athletics. They are the next LeBron James, or Peyton Manning, and deserve to be compensated as such for their hard work and dedication to their respective sport. The average amount of time college athletes spend practicing, playing, and training for their respective sport is somewhere between 40 and 50 hours a week, which is comparable to a full time job. This doesn't include the time they are required to spend on academics. College athletes deserve to be compensated due to the injustice of amateurism, their role in professional athletics, and the amount of time they spend on their respective…
