My Opinion
My opinion on how we should control the death caused by gun violence is simple, the gun is not the problem the person who stands behind the gun and pulls the trigger is the problem in this situation. It was their choice to buy the gun, plan the violence, and carry out with their plan. These people should not have the capability to buy a gun, but people should have the right to buy and protect themselves and their families.
Without Guns:. Without the right to bare arms, how are the people who work at night, have to travel places, or work in areas with high percentage rates of violence?
Our Government has led us to the conclusion that it is the gun itself committing the crime, not the person whose planned and …show more content…
memorized how he will kill his intended target. If our right to bare arms is taken away, there will still be gun violence and deaths by guns, because if there is someone that has evil plans inside of them, they will find a way to get a gun. Vince Vaughn once said “Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat.” Making a law that will take away guns will only make it easier for the bad people to kill, because the people that used guns for protection will not be able to protect themselves without a weapon that is equivalent in speed and damage as the other gun. Take away the people not the weapon.
Contrary to some of what people believe, taking away guns is taking unconstitutional, it is violating our Second Amendment which states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
They cannot take away our right to protect ourselves and our families from the evil doings of others in this world. The violence will only continue to grow when the people cannot stop the others from committing their evil doings.
Adding helpful laws. While replacing the Second Amendment and taking away guns for everyone is unlawful and a horrible idea; adding laws to require stronger background checks, create new test a person should have to take to obtain a gun, and not allowing access to people with criminal backgrounds or certain mental health issues to weapons that easily have the capability to kill and severely injure another person.
CONCLUSION
My conclusion is that everyone who is in America should be able to obtain a gun legally with the right documents and a thorough background check.
Our Government cannot take it away because it is our protection and our right, and what we need is to make the gun laws better for everyone. The government does not have the right to take away our right to bare arms, but they can add laws to help strengthen the ways to keep guns out of the wrong hands. Instead of blaming the bullet that comes out of the barrel, blame the person that pulls the trigger when it’s loaded. We as Citizens of this free nation do not deserve to have our right ripped from us because of other people’s evil doings in this
world.
