Chasing tail
A dog chasing its tail can seem amusing or alarming as some dogs are growling as they chase it. It indicates frustration in a dog normally and often loneliness. They can do this for a significant amount of time even to the point of hurting themselves which is why we would consider it inappropriate. Even when told to stop the dog seems to be in a cycle and finds it difficult.
Rolling in unpleasant things
This behaviour we would consider inappropriate due to the outcome which is very unpleasant for us. As to why a dog does it, there are different theories. One would be that they …show more content…
actually enjoy the strong aroma and it attracts them, another would be that they are marking the spot to let other dogs know that they found it,
Rolling Over and peeing
Rolling over in itself I don’t believe humans would find inappropriate but when the dog releases urine most people don’t understand why although the act of rolling over they generally find cute.
Dogs can use this as a control method of something they feel attracted to and gain control by the human showing them affection at their request because they look cute or humans feel sorry for the dog as its urinated.
Mad moments
Although a number of owners will laugh at their dog when it is in the process of this behaviour but others find it very unacceptable especially if the dog is a large breed. It is actually the dog showing a high level of fear so this behaviour should not be encouraged and the dog should never be chased by a human when in this mode because it will only develop a stronger fear.
Muzzle grabs
Muzzle grabbing would seem wrong to us as it looks a lot like biting but it is a way that dogs communicate many things. Their muzzle are sensitive areas and they can communicate affection, dominance and confidence in their social position. It is also used for play between dogs and they learn bite inhibition and they will be reprimanded if their bite is too
strong.
