degree after talking to my major advisor, Dr. Reynaldo Patiño. His lab research topic matches my interest. I wanted to get solid theoretical, lab and research-based foundation in biology before going for a research career. Currently, I am working on a project titled “Influence Of Environmental Variables On Growth Of Toxigenic Golden Alga (Prymnesium parvum): A Laboratory Test Of Field-Generated Hypotheses”. The majority of my current research applies laboratory experiments to test the influence of environmental variables on the growth of toxigenic golden alga (Prymnesium parvum). I have already completed research for three chapters of my dissertation, which provided the basis for three scientific papers (one has been published and the other two are in preparation). Research for two other chapters will be completed soon and these chapters should eventually also be published in the peer-reviewed scientific journals. I have also attended several national and international scientific conferences and presented my research works. Several of my oral and poster presentations nominated for best presentation and won top ranking in graduate categories. I am also involved in multiple side projects and am supervising and training undergraduate students and newly enrolled graduate students in my major advisor lab. One of my side project was also recently published in an international journal; the objective of this study was to identify a biological treatment to control harmful algal blooms. During my graduate tenure at Texas Tech, I have worked as Teaching Assistant and supervised/prepared undergraduate teaching assistants as a part of my teaching
