Teachers are one of many professions that make less money in the working world. Teachers start out making only $30,377, opposed to other jobs like computer programmers, who make $43,635 and RN’s who make a staggering $45,570 (NAE). Teachers attend school longer than both of these professions. Teachers deserve to be paid more because they work longer that normal working hours, they pay for their own classroom supplies, and they impact lives.

Teachers are so inspiring to students. Teachers make children feel like they can do anything that they set their mind to. “Great teachers don’t just teach you; they change you”(Phillips 2015). Teachers are mentors that shape children into doing great things. It’s a teacher's job to prepare children for the future. They prepare everyone for the future. Teachers teach the future of the country, and sometimes it isn’t a walk in the park. Teachers teach our children to believe in themselves when no one else will.
