We rarely see the effects it has on the losing side till after the battle is won. Images that are taken play an important part of history. Many images of events are seen as iconic. Images of such as Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima have been used and recreated for advertising and different memorials. Photographs of events can be served as reminders to learn from our mistakes and not have war happen again. These images can also be used to add an emotional feel to war. After the bombing of 9/11 american flags were sold at a faster rate. Images become important to us and helps play a part of our
lives. Images of war is used in artistic and advertising culture. Ads for joining the army are present on television today. We see Ads for joining and showing your american pride. Images of political leaders are used in art. Posters of military and Obama are very present. This can also be used to advertise opinions such as the “Thanks Obama!” for irony for events that he had no influence over. This leads to military being used in artwork and even being used for political posters. Advertisements of military power is mixed with politics. We usually see images of democracy versus republicans as war between two sides. Posters and even political cartoons portrays this by having sides argue between each other in exaggeration. Images of military and war are mainly used to keep facts of what happened during these events. But images can be used to persuade people into believing what is not actually true. News can over exaggerate events and make it seem like certain events are much worse than they are. It can also have the opposite effect and have war be shown as more mild than what is actually happening. The war in Vietnam was the probably the most influential war. Events were shown with media, but at the same time when soldiers came home they were not treated the same as previous war soldiers.
