If you think it's selfish to take time for yourself remember that you're not only doing this for yourself; you're doing it also for other people. If you take care of yourself, you'll also be able to help the people around you by spreading positive energy. The better you feel, the easier it will be for you to be a good person, so taking the time to relax isn't lazy; it's at least as important as replying to emails – probably even more important.
Learning to relax is easiest if you do at the same time every day. You could do it before work when everyone else in the house is still sleeping, you could do it during your lunch break, or you could do it in the evening when you're ready for bed – whatever works for you. You can turn it into a ritual that you perform every day.
It's very important that you don't skip this step because the results of step 2 will be very different depending on how relaxed you are. Learning to relax may take some time for you, but it's going to be worth it.

The first step is to make a list of your 25 career goals or things you want to pursue in your working life. Next, you circle the top five items on your list. In step three you commit to never pursuing any of the things on your list that you didn't circle.
That way you'll focus on the things that are truly important to you without getting distracted.
