Elections are an important facet to a democracy because democracy gives people the opportunity to choose the government that will take care of their affairs both at the national and parliament level. In a perfect democracy, voting is the opportunity to elect or re-elect government officials and allows you to have a voice at any level of government and the areas that affect the life of citizens. It’s like a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting. More fundamentally, democracy lets people speak their minds and shape their own and their children’s futures. Many countries have numerous powerful political parties, such as Germany and India and some nations have one-party systems, such as China. There are also two-party system, with its two most powerful parties being the Democratic Party and the Republican Party , such as The United States. In addition , parties tend to be deeply and durably entrenched in specific substructures of society in a sustainable and well functioning democracy.
